First weekend in May
Festival based on Arkansas river steamboats, which stopped where the
Toad Suck Lock and Dam are now. Toad races and lots of frog-themed fun!

Rock Hill, SC, has an annual spring festival with a
froggy mascot, Glen the Frog, who was drawn by illustrator Vernon Grant
(of Snap, Crackle, & Pop from Rice Krispies fame) who lived in Rock Hill. The
festival started in a local garden with a pond that is home to lots of frogs.
The festival occurs for ten days in the first two weeks of April, starting on
the first or second Friday of April and ending the second or third Sunday of
April. The 2007 festival is April 12-21. The website is

Frogfest 2007: Cedarville MI, May 18-19 2007
Frog Fest is sponsored by the Les Cheneaux Watershed Council and Chippewa East
Mackinac Conservation District, which is devoted to protecting the area’s water
resources for present and future generations. Don’t miss the large array of
decorated frogs at local businesses and homes, part of the community art
project. A brochure will feature the different frog sponsors and their locations
along with all activities for Frogfest 2007. For more information, contact Wendy

Lake Erie has gone frog wild! Giant frogs are popping up
all over town, each with its own extravagant decorations. Take a look at the
frog pictures; even though the event is over the photos are still posted.

Frog Fantasies: The famous
frog museum in Eureka Springs, Arkansas is still open! Although the original
owners are retiring, apparently the store and museum will continue. Please let
us know if you hear more details!
Helen's Frog Museum: It's not on the web yet, but you can visit a
frog museum in Kirksville MO that has over 11,000 frogs! Drive 2 miles west of the
Kirksville Wal-Mart, turn right, and it's the first house on the left. You'll
recognize it by the 250 frogs in the front yard...
