The Rayne Frog Festival (annual event): Rayne, LA, self-proclaimed Frog Capital of the World! -  2006 dates: September 8, 9, & 10  www.rayne.org   

Toad Suck Daze (annual event):  Conway, Arkansas - First weekend in May
Festival based on Arkansas river steamboats, which stopped where the Toad Suck Lock and Dam are now. Toad races and lots of frog-themed fun!

Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee (annual event):  Angels Camp, CA      May 16-20, 2007
County Fair with frog jumping contests and a definite froggy theme.

Rock Hill, SC, has an annual spring festival with a froggy mascot, Glen the Frog, who was drawn by illustrator Vernon Grant (of Snap, Crackle, & Pop from Rice Krispies fame) who lived in Rock Hill. The festival started in a local garden with a pond that is home to lots of frogs.  The festival occurs for ten days in the first two weeks of April, starting on the first or second Friday of April and ending the second or third Sunday of April.  The 2007 festival is April 12-21.  The website is http://comeseeme.rockhill.net and the contact person is Ann Terry, Administrative Assistant.  Her email is comeseeme@comporium.net.

Frogfest 2007:  Cedarville MI, May 18-19 2007
Frog Fest is sponsored by the Les Cheneaux Watershed Council and Chippewa East Mackinac Conservation District, which is devoted to protecting the area’s water resources for present and future generations. Don’t miss the large array of decorated frogs at local businesses and homes, part of the community art project. Leap Frog Erie:   Lake Erie has gone frog wild! Giant frogs are popping up all over town, each with its own extravagant decorations. Take a look at the frog pictures; even though the event is over the photos are still posted.

Frog Collectors' Museums:

Frog Fantasies: The famous frog museum in Eureka Springs, Arkansas is still open! Although the original owners are retiring, apparently the store and museum will continue. Please let us know if you hear more details!

Helen's Frog Museum: It's not on the web yet, but you can visit a frog museum in Kirksville MO that has over 11,000 frogs! Drive 2 miles west of the Kirksville Wal-Mart, turn right, and it's the first house on the left. You'll recognize it by the 250 frogs in the front yard...

Frog Museum in Switzerland: Click here to learn more about a frog museum near Basel, Switzerland, with 10,000 frogs. There are pictures on the web site showing some of the frogs, too.

Frogpool Online Museum:   Check out this great online frog collection! It's in Austria, but you can see hundreds of frogs posted online without ever leaving home.
