Native Art Frog Story Teller

Many cultures have myths about the sun and moon, but this one is unique to the Native American Spokane Tribe.

"Way back when the world needed light, the animals tried to make light appear, but failed. So the Creator made two brothers to take on this task. One brother was made from the red rock, the other from the root of a plant. When they came upon the house of a witch, Lady bullfrog, she fell in love with the brother made from the root. She leaped onto his face and held so tightly that she pulled out one of his eyes when she was pried loose..."

The last half of this tale can be found on the card that comes with this decorative frog figurine. The frog is made from a high quality resin and is highly detailed. The frog hangs by a small cord and beneath the frog dangles a pouch that has a sun and moon on the front of it.

The frog comes in a cotton bag with an attached card that tells the Spokane legend of how the sun and moon came to be.
